Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a mental state of heightened awareness and intense concentration, which is induced during a hypnotherapy session. In this state of awareness it is possible to focus on areas of concern, and be receptive to predetermined suggestions which the client then has to choose whether or not to accept in order to effect the desired behavioural changes. It is important to note that one is completely conscious during the session and that the perception of being asleep is due to the fact that the body is in a state of deep relaxation.
Hypnosis enhances the clients will-power, so it would be an excellent tool in attaining goals that depend on will-power, such as, smoking cessation, and weight loss.
